Gen Bajwa approves deployment of troops for census


RAWALPINDI: The West Pakistan Army intends to deploy two hundred,000 troops for the Population and Housing census.

Military voice Major General Asif Ghafoor on Friday said the military chief has approved “plan to support conduct of sixth Population and Housing Census.

He aforesaid on Twitter that besides discharging its duties throughout census the military will continue alternative security responsibilities.

A meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last month united to start Pakistan’s sixth population census on March fifteen,2017. The meeting was attended by chief ministers of country’s federating units.
